Service of Silence and Prayer

When shots ring out, God's is the first heart to break. Yet again, our hearts are also rent as much in sadness as in anger. We hold close to the victims, students, and families caught in the gun violence visited upon Michigan State University. Its proximity tilts our heads skywards, our pulse quickens, and our breath catches. We are called to much more than prayer, but it is a faithful place to begin as we stand with those who grieve in East Lansing.

Embracing Hope Information Sessions

In August 2026 First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor will be 200 years old. From our very beginning, in a log cabin on the corner of Main and Ann, we have passionately lived in God’s profound faithfulness.

We know the days ahead matter as much as the days behind us. If First Pres is to grow as a vital congregation; expanding in mission, providing winsome worship and relevant ministry to all, we need to take bold steps that are relevant and transformational for new generations as we follow God into our next century.

February First Sunday

Join us on Sunday, February 5, when we will pack Lunches with Love for our local mission partner, Food Gatherers. Donate items listed below now through February 4 for our First Sunday event. Donations may be dropped off at the Welcome Center.

Sandy Talbott Speaker Series

Join us for the inaugural Sandy Talbott Speaker Series this January and February 2023. Created in honor of former Parish Nurse Sandy Talbott (2012-2020), this annual series will feature health and wellness speakers who focus on topics to help us deepen our understanding of the intersection of faith and physical and mental health and wellness.
