Meet the Residents

One of the distinct features of First Presbyterian Church is our role as a teaching and learning congregation with a Resident Ministry Program. Since 2001, our congregation has learned from and with 33 Resident Ministers who now serve in a variety of ministry capacities around the country. During their two years, Residents teach and preach, administer sacraments and offer pastoral care, innovate new worshipping forms, and serve our community in meaningful ways.

School Supplies Drive

Beginning July 2, we will be collecting school supplies for Ozone House, our local mission partner. Ozone House is dedicated to helping runaway, homeless, and high-risk youth and their families by providing housing and support programs. We would love for you to join us in making a difference in these young people’s lives. Donations will be accepted at the Welcome Center throughout the month of July.

Walk the Labyrinth

As a meditative experience of worship this summer, you are invited on the listed dates and times at the home of Kurt and Kathy Hillig (7654 W Ellsworth Rd., Ann Arbor, 48103) to walk the labyrinth on their property. See dates and times below. A labyrinth is used for walking meditation. It is a single winding path from the outer edge in a circuitous way to the center.

School Supplies for the Philippines

Twenty-four years ago, a tropical cyclone devastated large parts of the Philippines.  Thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed. In response, First Pres volunteers travelled to the Philippines to build homes, a dental clinic, improve schools and prisons, and create lasting friendships with many Filipinos.  Still today, First Pres supports our friends in the Philippines with donations of children’s books and school supplies.  You can join this international mission project by packing books and supplies for shipment to Filipino schools on June 23 and 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
