Navigating a balance between safe and secure worship while sustaining an open and welcoming environment is challenging but not unique to faith-based organizations. The Safety Work Group takes this balance very seriously.
As reported earlier this year, Safety hired a private security guard/company for 3 months as a pilot project funded from our own budget. This vetted person has been in our building on Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
The Safety Work Group is asking the staff and congregation (both those in attendance and those who worship from home) to complete a survey to help us assess the experience and general attitudes regarding a security guard.
